AZOSPIRILLUM

Methods recommended for application are:

Seed treatment: Dosage: 10 kg medium size seeds such as groundnut, wheat, cotton, maize etc., may be treated with 200 g of inoculant, whereas 100 g per acre inoculant is enough for treatment of small size seeds.

Seedling dipping: This method is useful where the transplantation of seedlings are required. It is ideal for vegetable crops. Prepare the inoculant suspension in water in the ratio of 1:10. Dip the roots of seedlings in suspension and keep them immersed for about 5 minutes Take out the seedlings from the suspension and transplant as early as possible.

Dosage: Suspension of one kg in 10 to 15 litre of water for treating of seedlings for one acre.

Soil application: Mix 3-5 kg inoculant with 50 kg finely powdered FYM. Broad cast this mixture at the time of last ploughing.

Description

Product Benefits

  • Azospirillum is nitrogen fixing (20- 40 kg N/ha) bio-inoculant and is suitable for all crops except legumes.
  • Apart from nitrogen fixation, Azospirillum synthesizes a considerable amount of biologically active substances viz. vitamins, nicotinic acid, indole acetic acids and gibberellins.
  • These help the crop in better germination, early emergence and better root development. Stimulates growth and imparts stay green character to plants/crop, is a characteristic of a healthy plant/crop.

Method of Application & Dosage

  • Seed treatment:Before sowing the seeds, treat one kg of seeds with 35-40 gm of formulation with a minimum amount of water required, dry in shade.
  • Soil application:Mix 5 kg of formulation with 100 kg of well-decomposed organic manure or 50 kg vermicompost, keep the mixture under shade for one week and broadcast to the field.
  • Drip irrigation:Mix five kg of formulation in 100 litre of water. Filter the mixture with a muslin / malmal cloth and use the filtered solution in drip irrigation for one acre.

PHOSPHATE SOLUBILIZING BACTERIA

Phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) is included in one of the effective organisms for plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR); which are widely used as Bio-fertilizers for plant growth and nutrient use efficiency. These soil micro-organisms play a significant role in regulating the dynamics of organic matter decomposition and the availability of plant nutrients such as nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K) and other nutrients.

Discription

Benefits of Phosphate Solubilizing Bacteria:

  1. Increase micronutrients availability to plant from the soil like Mn, Mg, Fe, Mo, B, Zn and Cu in addition to P2O5.
  2. Encourage faster root growth for water and nutrient uptake.
  3. produce organic acids like malic, succinic, fumaric, citric, tartaric acid and acetic acid which fasten the P2O5 up take, maturity and increase yield.
  4. Increase resistance towards diseases and drought tolerance due to rapid cell development in the plants.
  5. Compatible to other beneficial microbes with the plant like growth promoting substance.
  6. Reduce 25 – 30% phosphatic fertilizer requirement.

Target Crops:

PSB can be used for all crops including paddy, millets, oilseeds, pulses and vegetables.
